a 5 minute glimpse into a chinese classroom

Exclusive footage from today's Year 2 POI class...

Okay, so it's not really teaching - more of help-the-students-with-the-review-worksheet session - but I figured this would be the best way to show you what teaching in China is all about. And besides, if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video should be at least a couple million. (In that case, I'm done writing until 2010!)

Side note
: Yes, I taught Year 2 students "Native American." What can I say... We made teepees for our unit on homes, and I wanted to be politically correct. Guess that's what happens when you put an untrained foreign teacher completely in charge of developing the curriculum!

Hey Ammie,
Cute kids. They looked very interested in their work--"engaged" is the current lingo. You must have fun with them, but aren't you tired at the end of the day?
Love,
Mom
PS Are you considering giving up Yale to get a teaching license?

Wow, that looks just like life at PEG, only less chaotic!

Maybe you should 'live blog' a class, with real-time messages from the ISS kids to your readers...a video really is worth a million words.

I concur with Larry. This needs to happen every day!! So cool. I can definitely see how you can be completely entwined and immersed in these kids. What life! What energy!

Congrats, Teacher!
